North Syracuse: Our client is looking for a great candidate for their engineering lab technician opening who is looking to become a part of a great team and wants to start a career!!

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

Perform associated duties of an Engineering technician in a scroll compressor development laboratory. Assemble prototype and development compressors including measurement and recording of critical characteristics. Modify parts and assemblies using basic mechanical shop skills. Basic machining skills a plus. Coordinate more involved part modification and fabrication with outside resources. Perform calorimeter performance testing on compressors, including data acquisition and documentation. The individual will be responsible for maintenance and calibration of testing equipment.

Skills/Experience Required:
• Knowledge of and diagnostic skills in refrigeration and air conditioning systems, compressors, components and electronics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and communication of technical data in test reports.
• Previous laboratory and testing experience, preferably the performance testing of HVAC compressors or familiarization with automated data acquisition systems is desired.
• Previous experience and knowledge of brazing techniques for HVAC piping is desired.
• Previous experience with basic machine tools (lathe, mill, etc.) is desired.
• PC skills are required. Software proficiency should include data acquisition software and Microsoft applications.

Education/Training:
Bachelor of Technology degree preferred. Associates degree or 10 years experience in mechanical HVAC field required.
